Stand Up To Cancer 2025 will take place from 5-12 December, with Cancer Research UK joining forces with Channel 4 for a week-long awareness campaign to raise funds and encourage people to attend screening.

A simple online screening checker has been developed by the campaign organisers and will be launched 5 December. It is designed to help people quickly see what screening programmes they may be eligible for. A live broadcast is planned for the evening of 12 December.

> STAND UP TO CANCER> CYGNET EARLY CANCER DIAGNOSIS

This year’s Stand Up To Cancer 2025 campaign runs from 5 to 12 December, with Cancer Research UK joining forces with Channel 4 to deliver a high-impact week of awareness-raising, screening encouragement and fundraising. The campaign will culminate in a live broadcast on the evening of 12 December that will bring the issue of early diagnosis into homes and living rooms across the UK
.
One of the most welcome innovations of the campaign is the introduction of a simple online screening-checker, launching on 5 December. This specially developed tool is designed to help people quickly and easily find out which NHS screening programmes they may be eligible for, what the process involves and how to take action. Behind this tool lies a deeper public-health message: many people remain unsure whether they need screening or what to do next.

The live broadcast, titled “Cancer Clinic: Live”, will air on 12 December and present, for the first time on UK television, an inside view of a cancer clinic in action. Viewers will meet patients, families and clinical specialists to help demystify what happens when cancer is diagnosed, and how early detection gives more treatment options.

Why this matters
Cancer is a disease where time matters. When caught early, many cancers are far more treatable. Yet millions of people in the UK are not up to date with screening. The screening checker aims to reduce confusion and encourage action. Meanwhile, the campaign supports vital research through Cancer Research UK, funding new diagnostics, treatments and prevention initiatives.

How you can get involved
Use the screening checker when it launches on 5 December to find out if you’re eligible.
Watch and share the live broadcast on 12 December to learn more and spark conversation.
Fundraise, donate or join campaign activities throughout the week of 5–12 December
Discuss screening with those you know, especially family or friends who may be reluctant or unsure about it.

The impact
By combining awareness-raising with action and giving real visibility to cancer care and research, Stand Up To Cancer 2025 sets out not only to raise funds, but to help change behaviour and attitudes. Early diagnosis saves lives, and when more people engage with screening and research, the effect ripples far beyond individuals to families, communities and generations to come.
